display for T293 at Frieze, London

2017

Prototypes for a display structure referencing both canonical displays by Franco Albini, Lina Bo Bardi, Carlo Scarpa, and Frederick Kiesler and generic drywall partitions, the dominant technology to exhibit artworks and build houses since it was invented in 1888. Every day and multiple times a day these walls were rearranged to form different kinds of spaces, from pseudo domestic enclosures where the works are experienced more intimately to an randomised array so that different audiences attending the fair will get a different experience of the paintings by John Henderson each time.
